Hello everyone and welcome to the week! It’s time to take another look at the noteworthy updates of the past seven days. This time, friends, a whole menagerie of updates. Some Apple Arcade, some free games, and some standard paid games. There are enough things that I even miss the obligatory free puzzle update this time around. Wait a minute, is this legal? Looks like I’m going back to jail again. Of course, you can stay tuned for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly review is only meant to tell you about things you may have missed. Let’s do it!
Contest of Champions Marvel, Free Isn’t that always the case? You’re having a good time fighting your rivals, and then the Omega Guardian crashes the party and ruins everything. Damn, Omega Guardian. Crap. Also in this update, Kang meets an alternate Kang. Regular comic book readers know that this never ends well. A person simply cannot agree with himself on anything. Add a few new tasks and a few UI improvements, that’s it. There is a staggering lack of new Spider-Man, but I think everyone has been Spider-Man for a while now. In any case, almost everything. Not me! Backing up that dump truck “beep beep” and fill my room with Spider-Man! Oh god, I lost my temper again. I’m sorry you had to see this.
SimCity BuildItFree I noticed it SimCity BuildIt likes to go to Japan in spring. And here it is again. Decorate your city with beautiful buildings and landmarks such as a seaside village, a mountain onsen, and a traditional ryokan. You’ll find this in the Season Mayor’s Pass, as well as some other cool themed goodies like the lovely Sakura Roads. Yes, cherry blossoms always look beautiful. They improve everything. Yesterday I was looking at plum blossoms and although they are not as pink, they are quite cute too.
TRANSFORMERS: Tactical ArenaGod, I don’t know much about this game at all. Well, let’s see if I can fake it good enough to fool you all. Oh no I definitely shouldn’t have said it out loud. The delete key is broken, nothing can be done. This update adds high-level players to the Champions League who can compete for wild rewards. You will earn Arena Crates which unlock new cards and give some Ore-13 as you progress through arenas and there are new arena levels to climb. And a new arena called the Pit of Justice, which sounds like a great place to plan your kid’s next birthday party. There are some new maps, some gameplay improvements, and naturally a lot of bug fixes. Overall, not a bad set.
Disney Magic Kingdoms, Free There’s a weird vibe to 1970s Disney movies, but as someone who grew up with those movies, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic for them in particular. My favorite from this party when I was a kid was Robin the Hoodsince I also liked Robin Hood as a character. I never understood why they were animals, but oh well. Everything is fine. Sometimes people are animals, and that’s okay. Anyway, this is an update for Disney Magic Kingdoms. New attractions in the form of Nottingham and Sherwood Forest, new concessions in the form of a blackberry pie stand and a Robin Hood hat stand, a new float for the Robin Hood parade and, of course, new characters Robin Hood, Little John, Maid Marian, Prince John. and Sir Hiss. Chill.
PAC-MAN Royal PartyOkay, you’ve played some pacman. But have you ever played pacman at a sushi restaurant? Okay, I see some of you raising your hands. Damn the ubiquity of land in the modern age, stepping on my jokes! Well… have you ever played pacman where the labyrinth is decorated in the style of a sushi restaurant? Oh, there we go. Now you can! This is the highlight of this update. And a bunny costume. And a new way to check your ranking on the leaderboard from the main menu. Just a random scatter of things, but that’s okay.
jetpack rideIs free
jetpack ride does another rep and it’s not particularly exciting or interesting. But it’s here because jetpack ride brings all the boys to the yard, although it is about as old as this reference. Either way, the Bling event returns. Collect gold bars, try to earn Gold Topat and Gold SAM and if you miss it don’t worry because it will be back again soon.
SolitaireHow about a little star power in this article? I don’t know how it happened, but Ben Schwartz is the star of the latest Solitaire story called Museum of Real Fine Art. You may have known him from Parks and recreation areasor maybe like a voice Sonic the Hedgehog in Hollywood films. Either way, it’s a silly and enjoyable device for playing solitaire. If you have an Apple Arcade subscription, give it a try. And go see what’s new Sonic movie I think. Idris Elba as Knuckles could be one of the best candidates for the role. Ever.
CHRONO TRIGGER (upgrade version)$4.99
Chrono trigger recently celebrated its 27th anniversary, and the current version of the game received a major update across all platforms to commemorate the milestone. For mobile users, this means proper full-screen support, improved touch controls, some new combat speed and auto-combat options, expanded save slots to allow up to twenty saves to be saved, and a new “More” option in the main menu. These add-ons consist of movies, illustrations, sound mode, and a log of the endings you’ve reached. Not bad, but they didn’t add what I really wanted: a way to turn off that insufferable graphics filter that makes everything look a little melted. Well, you can’t always get what you want. Still a pretty good update all things considered. I think I’ll give him what he wants UMSres reward for this week.
Zoo MirWe may not have a mandatory free matching puzzle update this week, but we do have a subscription-based semi-mandatory puzzle update. This Zoo Mir, one of my little joys in recent months. This latest version adds a second special event, this time to celebrate Easter 2022. Pass the stages and get the corresponding thematic rewards. There’s also a new “Prize Claw” mini-game. You know how it is: position the claw, let it fall and try to grab some toy. Other than that, these are just some balance adjustments and bug fixes. But hey, that should be enough to keep you busy for a bit.
Quest$7.99 And we’ll end this week with a preview of the latest version of the excellent RPG. Quest. A new addition to the game called Curse of Lynmore, and support for it has been added in this latest version. You also get some bug fixes, as is often the case with these updates that support the extension. As usual, you’ll want to buy and install a standalone extension app and enable it through the main menu in that app to access it. This time, your goal is to remove the mysterious curse that has struck the inhabitants of Lynmore. But what could be causing this? You will have to look into this issue if you want to correct the situation. Yes, even Quest. Give it all to me.
This concludes the important updates of last week. I’m sure I missed some of them, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think anything should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely receive their own news during this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to take stock and fill in the gaps. Have a nice week!
