Retro-inspired platformer Commander Pixman celebrates 10 years with new super-hard levels – TouchArcade

Over the past few years, several major mobile gaming franchises have crossed the 10-year milestone. Games like Temple Run, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and more. It always comes as a shock because part of me still feels like the iPhone is a crazy new thing that just came out, but somehow the wacky world of mobile gaming actually started over ten years ago! Either way, one franchise might not be as famous as yours. Angry Birds or Temple Run or your Ninja Fruit also recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and this one probably shook me the most: Commander Pixman from One Minute Games. Well, it technically hit a double-digit milestone back in September, but just last week a big update was released to celebrate the big 1-0.

The main attraction of this 10 year anniversary update is a set of new super hard levels. There were already over 100 levels in the game that I wouldn’t hesitate to call “super hard” so if these new levels are officially labeled “super hard” then I think you’d better buckle up. This is what I love. about Commander Pixman though. Simply completing a level is a satisfying task, but if you want something more, you can also try to defeat all the enemies in the level and earn an extra badge. And if you REALLY want to test yourself, you can try earning 3 stars on each level by beating its nominal time. Where is it Commander Pixman really becomes one of those masocore style games where you will die over and over and you better be prepared to love every minute of it.

With mobile games feeling more ephemeral than ever, with games being removed from the App Store due to poor performance, or games breaking with iOS updates and never getting fixed, it’s great to see the little lone studio continues to hold its own. baby is in great shape. . And with new levels to boot! So if you haven’t crossed paths with Commander Pixman earlier and enjoy a well-designed and challenging BS-free platformer, help celebrate its 10th anniversary by purchasing it at the current discounted price of just $2.99, and be sure to check out the forum thread to join the 10-year-old discussion. .
