Hey, what the hell? 2021 has come and gone and we didn’t talk about intruder once a whole year Well, today everything changes, friends. intruder is an intense space combat game designed specifically for mobile devices and was chosen by us as Game of the Week when it was released back in July 2020. The combat and controls are very fun, and the entire gameplay loop has a hint of a roguelike which makes it very easy to play over and over again. Lone developer Matt Purchase from Anchorite Games is pretty constantly updated intruder since its release, and there have been some pretty big updates in 2021 that have gone unnoticed for some reason.
Well, we won’t let that happen with the first game update of 2022. The highlight of this update is a brand new type of permanent mission: the combat challenge. This is up against an AI opponent in a 1v1 battle, but it’s not just any old opponent. This one has access to all of the same ships and weapons as you, which means this battle isn’t going to be easy. That’s okay, because the rewards for defeating this opponent are really good and will get better and better the more Battle Challenges you can win in a row. Of course, this also means that your opponent gets more and more difficult as your streak continues, and if you don’t get rewarded, the opponent’s difficulty will return to its original level.
In addition to the main new feature of Combat Trials, this update adds many minor fixes and improvements. Not to be overlooked is the inventory space has been increased from 60 to 400 (!) and a new feature that allows you to accept or reject all loot at the touch of a button on the game over screen. Say hello to easy loot accumulation. I mentioned this before but intruder such a good game and I’m really happy to see that it continues to improve even almost 2 years after release. It’s also a fully premium game, which is always nice, so if you haven’t strapped yourself into the pilot’s seat yet intruder until then, let this latest update be the catalyst you need to finally test it out, and be sure to check out other players’ impressions and almost 2 years of developer comments in the game’s forum thread.
